Outlooks in Aerospace Field

Aerospace is a field you can challenge with a big dream.
We expect the overall scale of the industry will be several trillion dollars soon.

Korea promotes aerospace as the primary next-generation industry by nurturing nation-level investment as it is directly related to national security and national status.

Thanks to abolishing the missile guidelines in 2021, public and private organizations are investing in the aerospace industry on a massive scale.

The space industry is moving from government-driven “Old Space” to commercially-driven “New Space,” so cultivating aerospace engineers of ability is one of the most urgent missions in this field.

KAIST AE’s Strength

KAIST AE has fostered global leaders since its foundation in 1979, and they have been playing a pivotal role in the aerospace field. We are providing the highest level of aerospace education. The undergraduate students are learning both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience at the same time from various system design classes and labs.

KAIST AE has been recognized as one of the best aerospace departments in Asia, including Japan and China. It has maintained its 20s ranking in QS World University Rankings for decades. The success of LINK CubeSat received attention as the first successful CubeSat in Korea, and we are developing the first university-driven small rockets.

Also, KAIST AE locates in Daedeok Research Complex, which provides rich internship and job opportunities in government research institutes and private companies. We actively collaborate with many nearby organizations, including Agency of Defence Development (ADD) and Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI).
